What is PEMF?
PEMF stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapy. A PEMF system sends controlled electromagnetic pulses through a treatment coil, creating a pulsed field that can pass through the body without massage, pressure, or direct electrical contact.
Why horse owners use PEMF: PEMF is commonly incorporated into equine wellness, relaxation, recovery, mobility, and performance routines. Individual horses can respond differently, so settings and session length should be selected for the horse, attachment, and application.
What happens during a session: The selected coil or attachment is positioned over the desired area, then intensity, frequency, and timer settings are chosen on the machine. VanHorn systems allow these settings to be adjusted for different attachments and applications.
Non-contact and adjustable: PEMF does not require pressure on the treatment area, and the output can be adjusted from a gentle session to a stronger setting as appropriate.
